DON't MISS IT!TOMORROW Tuesday 5th March our series of Winter Webinars continues with Dr James Poysky. James is a regular and always popular speaker at our Annual International Conferences and this webinar will focus on "Maximising Psychosocial Health in DMD"."Caring for the physical/medical aspects of duch*enne can be stressful enough, but when a child with DMD also has behavioural, learning, and emotional challenges, it can feel like too much to manage. However, there are robust interventions, treatments, and supports that can help with these things, and can improve the entire family’s quality of life. This session will provide an overview of the role of DMD in these challenges, the most common problems that tend to occur, and what is available to make life better. Although the information covered during this session will be at a summary level, several examples of strategies that parents can use at home to manage behaviour will also be discussed in a more specific way (e.g., responding to angry outbursts/arguing)."We know this topic will resonate with many of our families and we hope you will join us. What are your thoughts on the Research Domain Criteria (#RDoC) initiative? Former NIMH director Dr. Thomas Insel created RDoC to address limitations in diagnostic algorithms such as the DSM. However, many of the same limitations identified by Dr. Insel might be applicable to other complex diseases. Do you think RDoC has been beneficial for mental health research and advancing clinical practice? Or, are there reasons to believe that RDoC may be more effective in addressing mental health concerns than other complex diseases? Share your perspective on this important topic, and thank you for weighing in! #mentalhealth #research #clinicalpractice #healthcare

Many thanks to Oren Todoros from Health Tech Daily for this article on our latest report, The Pharmaceutical Cannabis Report: 3rd Edition, co-written with Cannabiscientia SA. Lawrence Purkiss, a senior analyst at Prohibition Partners and a co-author of the report, shared his insights, stating, “Looking at the development of clinical trials in cannabis over the last decade, and in particular over the last few years, gives great insight into the potential breakthroughs in the space in the coming years. From analysing the patent landscape in conjunction with the clinical trials record, it’s clear that the possibilities for further cannabinoid-based treatments are incredibly broad, with significant interest already in specific areas.”You can read the article in full here: https://lnkd.in/gcCFKSxB
